BOLTON — On Saturday, Oct. 29, the Warren Washington Association of Retarded Citizens will host their inaugural gala at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing. This will be no ordinary fundraiser. After dinner is served, guests will be able to indulge in, and vote on, their favorite chocolate confection. Competitors include North Creek's gourmet chocolate company, Barkeater Chocolates; as well as, pastry chefs from The Sagamore, culinary students from Suny Adirondack, and chefs from other local area restaurants and bakeries. The winner will receive a trophy & cash prize presented that evening.
Barkeater Chocolates has been dishing out artisan confections since 2008, with a specialty in gourmet, Euro-style truffles in unique flavors.
Competitors at the gala are allowed to showcase only one confection, though Barkeater Chocolates has also been asked to provide an assortment of their No-Sugar delicacies to those guests with dietary restrictions. Though they are not revealing which chocolate delight they will be sharing at the event, Barkeater Chocolates plans on bringing one of their four flavors in their Autumn Collection of truffles.
